President Massoud Barzani received French Ambassador to Iraq Eric Chevalier in Salahaddin on Tuesday.
The meeting, which was also attended by Olivier Decottignies, French Consul General in Erbil, discussed the political situation in Iraq and the latest developments in the Iraqi political process and the formation of the new government.
The meeting also discussed the situation in Sinjar, the welfare of the refugees and the need to implement the Sinjar agreement.
In another part of the meeting, the future of the Kurds in Syria and concerns about the possibility of Turkey's military operation in West Kurdistan were expressed.
The meeting also referred to the latest telephone conversation between President Barzani and President Macron, and emphasized the continuity of relations and coordination between the French government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.
