A Message from President Barzani to Public Opinion

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

With deep concern, we are closely monitoring the latest developments and events in Syria and Rojava. In this sensitive situation, it is essential that all parties act responsibly, calmly, and with restraint, and that they do not allow any harm to come to our brothers and sisters in Rojava—something that is unacceptable under any circumstances.

We have made every effort, and will continue to do so, to ensure that our brothers and sisters in Rojava are not subjected to calamity or disaster. At the same time, in this complex situation, there is a danger that ISIS and other terrorist forces could re-emerge, which would pose a grave threat to the region’s stability and security.

We therefore call on the international community and our allies to meet their responsibilities, immediately halt tensions, fighting, and clashes, establish a comprehensive ceasefire, and resolve all issues peacefully through dialogue.
