Kurdistan Flag Day

In 2004 Kurdistan Region Parliament passed a law to recognise the current Kurdistan Flag as the official Flag of Kurdistan Region. The same law also declared December 17 the Flag Day in Kurdistan, since it was first officially used by the Republic of Kurdistan also known as the Republic of Muhabad on December 17, 1946.

The People of Kurdistan commemorate this day every year by raising the flag and singing the national anthem of Kurdistan in public institutions and schools.
