The Kurdistan Democratic Party, the first patriotic and democratic party in Kurdistan, has struggled since its inception for individual freedoms and national and patriotic rights.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party continues to struggle for the national rights of the Kurds.

We seek to achieve national rights within Iraq and the Kurdistan Region by strengthening modern, democratic and responsible institutions in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

We work for the patriotic rights of all by working jointly with our neighbours and friends at the international level, by adhering to the Iraqi constitution, which preserves Iraq, the voluntary union of the people, the land and sovereignty.

We are the first patriotic and democratic party in Kurdistan. We are the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

The message of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, as it has always been, is deep rooted in history through multiple stages and rich experiences. It is a message that believes that democracy brings everyone together in order to find solutions and to address political problems that have become an obstacle to comprehensive progress and prosperity. Our participation in the elections of the Iraqi Council of Representatives is based on our firm and steadfast belief in democracy, freedom and peaceful coexistence. We call on dear voters to eagerly participate in the elections and vote.

We call on the loyal and beloved voters to vote for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, in order to honour the souls of the martyrs, to keep the cause of the people of Kurdistan in honest hands and to preserve the land, the people, the rights and achievements of Kurdistan.

We will all participate in these critical elections under the spectrum and brightness of democracy and with our belief in the clear political vision of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, as well as the determination of the Peshmerga and under the slogan, “For a better future and a secure and prosperous country, elect a strong party.” The broad public support for the Kurdistan Democratic Party in these elections will make our history more embodiment, the times more productive, and our future brighter. For this, we ask you to vote on October 10, 2021, in a cheerful patriotic celebration for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the honest party that preserves and protects the Kurdish cause. We work hard and sincerely for the vote of every voter, to strengthen our position in Baghdad, and to protect the rights of the People of Kurdistan.

Election Program of the Kurdistan Democratic Party for the election of the Iraqi Council of Representatives

The Kurdistan Democratic Party is one of the oldest Iraqi parties, and since the beginning of its establishment, and as always, it has been insisting on the cause of democracy in Iraq and linking this to its just national struggle. It has always been considered an important and active element on Iraqi national issues, on the basis of its strong and consistent principled positions on crucial issues related to reality and on the future of the country.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party has always insisted on being a sanctuary for all Iraqis, those who fled from the oppression of dictatorial regimes, so that they could have their rightful place and their rights would not be violated, as well as being protected in relation to the security, political and national stability.

We are participating in the upcoming elections, in order to expand the space of the civil state, democracy and the federal system. On the basis of an equitable distribution of power and wealth, as well as securing opportunities for all on the basis of equality, building a state of institutions, law and adherence to the constitution.

Taking into account the future of Iraq and protecting its independent national decision. The Kurdistan Democratic Party seeks to support and implement the actual, productive and feasible reform program, in order to achieve the just demands and aspirations of the Iraqi people in the face of corruption and to provide the necessary basic public services. Also, diversifying the sources of its economy, securing job opportunities, improving administrative performance, and strengthening state institutions. In addition, our party demands the return of the displaced with dignity to their areas of origin.

In view of the election process and its results, we demand that this vital process be conducted in a fair, transparent and impartial manner, under the auspices of the United Nations.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party List, which is the list of the oldest and most experienced party in Iraq and Kurdistan, as it owns most of the achievements and accomplishments, strives to:

KURDISTAN’S POSITION IN IRAQ

• Implement the constitution on with all its articles and clauses, which is the only guarantee for the continuation of the voluntary union of the land, people and sovereignty of Iraq. And ensure full commitment to all its text that were formulated in accordance with the principles of partnership, balance and consensus.

• Preserve the political entity of the Kurdistan Region in the spirit of unity of Kurdistan ranks, so that we can address the outstanding problems between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad.

• Implement Article 65 of the permanent Iraqi Constitution, and to establish (the Federation Council) to represent the regions.

• Work to return the disputed Kurdistani areas in accordance with the constitutional mechanisms, by applying Article 140 as it is a constitutional article and through: normalization, census, referendum. As well as ending the state of instability in these areas and compensating the residents.

• End the distorted state of the city of Kirkuk and all the disputed territories, respecting the will of its residents and compensating them.

• Work to return the remains of the victims of the infamous Anfal campaigns, to compensate their families in the most amicable manner, and to reconstruct their areas in a modern way.

HOME FOR ALL

• Achieve national and patriotic rights of the people of Kurdistan.

• Preserve and protect the multiple nationalities and religions. There must be a genuine respect for the different nations, religions, sects and different beliefs, providing an available space for work and freedoms, and that the law should protect them. We work hard to achieve this.

• Defend the political, administrative and cultural rights of the Turkmen, Chaldeans, Syriacs, Assyrians, Armenians and Sabian Mandaeans.

• Defend Sinjar, its people and its land as they are close to our hearts. We will work to end the abnormal conditions in the areas of Sinjar and compensate the people in the best way

• To protect the Yezidi, Zoroastrian, Shabak, Faili and Kaka'i Kurds. Respecting their cultures and intellectual visions and securing their constitutional rights.

• To protect and promote the contemporary religious coexistence and respect this principle, in addition to end all cases of religious and sectarian extremism, which turn into a threat to the lives and freedoms of citizens.

• Work to conduct a general census of the population in Iraq.

A PROSPEROUS COUNTRY

• Secure the rights, budget, salaries and financial dues of the Kurdistan Region. We express our respect for the steadfastness and patience of the citizens and employees of the Kurdistan Region, and we thank them with gratitude.

• Legislate laws that strengthen the foundations of the state, such as the Oil and Gas Law, as well as activating the Law of the High Commission for the Rights of Regions and Governorates and the Law of the General Authority for Revenue Monitoring.

• Support the health sector and health institutions, especially hospitals to treat the Coronavirus pandemic patients and provide them with the required vaccine needs so that the lives of citizens are preserved.

• Improve public services for water, electricity, and city and town cleanliness.

• Expand job opportunities, especially for young people through organizing business loan programs and developing infrastructure.

• Ensure that the food that is distributed is safe and in good quality and nutritious with particular attention to child nutrition.

• Develop the economic infrastructure including projects in the electricity and agriculture sectors.

A MODERN STATE

• Carry out reform in all fields and sectors, especially the health, education and cultural sectors.

• Undertake media reform, especially expanding a wide area of freedom of opinion and in parallel preventing defamation and belittling of persons and their personal privacy, according to the established laws.

• Eradicate corruption and punish those involved in the practice.

• Prevent external interference in Iraq’s internal affairs, as this interference threatens Iraq's political identity.

• Support the Iraqi Council of Representatives and the Federal Government of Iraq in their endeavours to build the best diplomatic relations with the countries of the world.

• Make the Iraqi Army impartial and prevent efforts to the militarization of the Iraqi society and to end all militias outside official institutions, which have become a threat to the lives of citizens.

• Secure all rights and entitlements of the Peshmerga of Kurdistan and respecting the Peshmerga as a symbol of freedom.

In order to achieve all these goals, and in coordination with everyone, we are working to transform Iraq into an Iraq for all. Therefore, we ask our dear voters to go to the polls and appeal to their consciences and take inspirations from history full of pride. View this day full of courage and determination and the future full of great national and patriotic dreams.
