President Barzani receives the Chinese Consul General in Erbil

President Massoud Barzani received the new Chinese Consul General in Erbil, Liu Jun and an accompanying delegation in Salahaddin on Wednesday.

In the meeting, the Chinese Consul General in Erbil appreciated the role of President Barzani and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in the history and equations of Kurdistan, Iraq and the region, and also appreciated the sacrifices of the KDP in the Kurdistan liberation movement.  Referring to the historical and ancient relations between Mustafa Barzani and the Chinese leaders and between the Communist Party of China and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, he called for further development of relations between China and the Kurdistan Region in various fields of economy, culture, science, trade and tourism.

President Barzani wished success to the new Chinese Consul in Erbil and expressed his appreciation for the history and civilization of China, the Chinese people and leadership that has  overcome great obstacles and served humanity and the world. He expressed his delight on further developing relations between both sides.

The meeting also discussed the latest security and political developments in the world and the region.
