President Masoud Barzani posted a message on X today, Sunday, March 16, 2025, on the 37th anniversary of the Halabja chemical weapons attack.

President Barzani's message:

The wound and pain of the Halabja chemical weapons attack will forever remain etched in the hearts and minds of all Kurds, ever present in their memories and minds, and impossible to forget. The responsibility for this crime against humanity, its consequences and repercussions, and even compensation for the victims' families, lies with the Iraqi state. On the 37th anniversary of the Halabja chemical weapons attack, we commemorate the souls of the righteous martyrs of Halabja, and the families and relatives of the martyrs and those injured as a result of this crime.
