Hawrami: KDP committed to its principle in achieving goals

Hemin Hawrami says the Kurdistan Democratic Party remains firm in its pursuit of achieving its goals and is ready to meet with other political parties to unconditionally discuss matters in the national interest of the people.

The Head of KDP's Foreign Relations Office made his comments during separate meetings with the Head of UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) in Erbil, Ricardo Rodriquez and Deputy Head of Swedish Mission in Iraq, Jessica Svardstrom where they focused on the current political and military situation in the Kurdistan region. Mr Hawrami expressed congratulations on behalf of the KDP to Mr Rodriguez on his new role and wished him success for his duties.

He thanked the Swedish government for their role in supporting the Kurds and for their assistance with the war on terrorism, where Kurdish Peshmerga forces have been combatting against so-called Islamic State militants in northern Iraq. Ms Svardstrom said her government is looking to enhance bilateral relations with the Kurdistan region.
