President Barzani representative participates at the United Russia party conference

A Kurdistan Democratic Party delegation led by Head of Foreign Relations Office, Hemin Hawrami, is visiting Moscow to participate at the 15th annual United Russia Party conference from 26-29 June.

On the sidelines of the conference, Mr Hawrami met delegates to exchange views on the current situation in the Kurdistan Region and discussed strengthening bilateral relations with representatives from Vietnam, Japan, Bulgaria, Italy, China and Cambodia.

The KDP is the only official Kurdistan political party to be invited to attend this conference.

The United Russia Party is the ruling political party in Russia and the largest party in the Russian Federation, currently holding 238 (or 52.89%) of the 450 seats in the State. It was founded in December 2001, through a merger of the Unity and the Fatherland – All Russia parties. The Party supports the policies of the current presidential administration. The Party's association with President and former Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, who is a former party leader, has been the key to its success. There is also evidence that the Electorate credits the Party for improvements to the economy.
