Hawrami: The will and voice of the people is greater significance than the challenges

During a meeting with the Turkish Deputy Consul in Erbil, Jalali Arsalan, Hemin Hawrami said that the voice of the people bears a greater significance than the difficulties facing the region and it is because of their will that all issues will be resolved.

Mr Hawrami, head of office at the Kurdistan Democratic Party's Foreign Relations Office, condemned the military coup attempt in Turkey last weekend on behalf of the KDP and said despite the political differences between both sides, Turkey is in the best position to understand the Kurdish regional issues.

For his part, Mr Arslan stressed the importance of stability in the region and especially Kurdistan and that Turkey shares the same common goal with the Kurds.

He expressed thanks to President Massoud Barzani and the leadership of the KDP for their stance and condemnation of the coup.

The meeting concluded with both sides discussing and exchanging views on the current situation in the Kurdistan region and bilateral relations.
