Hawrami: Kurds share sympathy for victims in Germany attacks

The Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party's Foreign Relations Office Hemin Hawrami expressed appreciation toward the government of Germany for their humanitarian aid and military support during a meeting with the German Consul General in Erbil, Marc Eichhorn.

Hawrami reflected on the recent attacks in Munich and said that the Kurds can understand the grievances and sends his condolences to the victims families on behalf of the KDP leadership.

Hawrami also pointed to the military and humanitarian aid provided by the German government for the Kurdish people, calling for continuation of donations as Peshmerga forces face the fiercest terrorists in the world. On the current political situation in Iraq, Hawrami said that the Kurdistan Region is suffering from ill effects as a result of the problems inside Iraq.

He added that the Kurds do not want to make any more sacrifices after years of political struggle from Iraq and future talks with the central government in Baghdad must be decisive.

For his part, Consul General of Germany confirmed that his country will continue to support the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces fighting on behalf of the world and that they are interested in the stability of the region which has an impact on the stability of Europe and stressed that Germany respects any decision taken by the people.
