President of the Republic of Iraq receives Prime Minister of Kurdistan

Nechirvan Barzani, prime minister of the Kurdistan Region, and his accompanying delegation met with Dr. Fouad Masum, President of the Federal Republic of Iraq in Baghdad.

President Masum welcomed Mr Barzani and expressed his gratitude for the visit to Baghdad and a meeting with Iraqi government officials, especially now that the two sides talked frankly and realistically about the current political situation.

He pointed out that these meetings and discussions will be of great benefit to resolve all problems between Erbil and Baghdad, and wished to continue visiting delegations from the province of Kurdistan to Baghdad and that the two sides would work to strengthen ties.

For his part, Prime Minister Barzani expressed his appreciation towards Mr Masum for the meeting and his assessment of political observation and presented him with a summary of his meetings with other Iraqi leaders during his trip to Baghdad. Both sides agreed that all outstanding issues must be resolved by peaceful dialogue.
