The Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party's Foreign Relations Office Hemin Hawrami has participated in discussions focusing on strategic values and changes at the Middle East Institute in Muscat, Oman.
During the two-day conference, where delegates including academics and politicians from the United States, Turkey, Iran, China, Russia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates will converse on a number of issues facing the Middle East, notably the ongoing problems in Kurdistan, Iraq and Syria.
Mr Hawrami, who is the sole Kurdish representative at the event, gave his insight into the future of Iraq, the war against Islamic State and the impending liberation process of Iraq's second city, Mosul, which has been under IS occupation for over two years. Delegates also exchanged views on the impact the upcoming US election will have in the Middle East.
