Hemin Hawrami, Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party’s Foreign Relations Office, met with the new Polish Ambassador to Iraq, Dr Stanislaw W Smolen, for talks on the current developments in the region.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest political and military situation where Mr Hawrami emphasised the internal situation in Kurdistan and the differences between the parties and ways to solve them.
On the impending liberation operation Iraq's second city, Mosul, Mr Hawrami said there is mutual understanding between Erbil and Baghdad.
He then focused on President Massoud Barzani's to Baghdad adding that the trip was made with reference to consolidating relations and to draw and agreement on the post-Mosul management.
Speaking about the current situation in Kurdistan, Mr Hawrami explained the KDP's viewpoint on the current military developments and stressed on the victories achieved by the Peshmerga forces in fighting against Islamic State terrorists.
For his part, Ambassador Smolen praised the stability and security in the Kurdistan region, stressing the importance of peace in the region.
Mr Bogoslaw Ochodek, the Polish Consul to Kurdistan Region, also attended the meeting.
