Hawrami and Abadi discuss bilateral relations

Bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran were the focal points of a meeting during talks with Iran's Consul General, Morteza Abadi and Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party’s Foreign Relations Office, Hemin Hawrami.

Mr Hawrami welcomed the Iranian delegation and said both sides rely on the historic relationship and valued its significance before moving on to discuss the latest developments in the region, including the latest on the Mosul liberation process.

Mr Abadi expressed praise on the Kurdistan administration for effectively combatting against terrorists while defending their freedom and the people of the region. He later affirmed his country's support.

The meeting concluded with both sides exchanging views on the current political situation in the region and wider areas in addition to enhancing diplomatic ties between Kurdistan and Iran.
