Hawrami: Mosul liberation process improving relations between Erbil and Baghdad

KDP's Foreign Relations Office Hemin Hawrami received a delegation from the US Consulate Office in Erbil led by Jeffrey Mzaro for talks on the latest political situation and military developments in the Kurdistan Region.

During the meeting, Mr Hawrami expressed appreciation toward the United States government and its people for the ongoing support of the Kurds and praised the long-term commitment of the US for its diplomatic mission in Kurdistan before moving on to focus on the Mosul liberation process where he said that the engagement of Kurdish and Iraqi forces working together to help fight against Islamic extremists, is having a positive effect on relations between Erbil and Baghdad.

Mr Hawrami also touched on President Massoud Barzani's participation at the Davos Forum in Geneva adding that he will meet with other world leaders to exchange views on matters closely linked to Kurdistan. 

Mr Mazaro  praises the Peshmerga for the courageous efforts in fighting against terrorists and defending their land and added that his country will continue to support the Kurdish administration. He also said that he hopes for a peaceful new year for the Kurds.
