The Head of Foreign Relations Office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Hoshyar Siwaily received a delegation from the Embassy of the United Kingdom in the Federal Republic of Iraq and the Consulate General in Erbil, headed by Mr. Jon Shar

The Head of Foreign Relations Office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Hoshyar Siwaily received a delegation from the Embassy of the United Kingdom in the Federal Republic of Iraq and the Consulate General in Erbil, headed by Mr. Jon Sharp.

Mr. Siwaily re-conveyed the condolences expressed by President Barzani and the Region’s Prime Minister to the British Government, the British People and the families of the victims of the terrorist attack in London last week.

Mr. Sharp thanked the Kurdistan Regional Government and their role in combating and defeating ISIS and terrorism as a common threat to regional stability and international security.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest political and military developments in the Kurdistan region and Iraq, where Mr. Sharp re-affirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to provide ongoing military, administrative and humanitarian support to Iraq and Kurdistan. He further praised the courage and sacrifices of Peshmerga force have made during the ongoing fight against ISIL and terrorism.

One of the hot issues which were discussed during the meeting was the intra relations between the political parties in Kurdistan Region. Mr Siwaily reiterated and reaffirmed the KDP’s firm position on resolving all the outstanding issues and indifferences through dialogue and peaceful engagement.

The meeting was concluded with Mr. Siwaily expressing the KDP’s appreciation for the UK’s ongoing support and the KDP’s legitimate anticipation of more UK support and assistance in the field of economic development and encouraging the UK’s business community in the reconstruction process of Kurdistan Region.
