The Head of the Foreign Relations Office offers condolences to the Swedish Embassy Office in Erbil
The Head of the KDP's Foreign Relations Office Hoshyar Siwaily, visited the Erbil Office of the Swedish Embassy accompanied by Amir Grgies and Dara Barawy, Siwaily offered condolences to the Embassy, the Government and the People of Sweden and condemned the terrorist attack in Stockholm on 7th April. They were received by Christian Nilsson, Deputy Head of the Mission in Iraq and Botan Saleh. The Head of the Foreign Relation Office, while condemning the evil act, he expressed his and the KDP's sympathy with the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the wounded. He also highlighted the fact that the people of Kurdistan feel the pain that terrorism inflicts as they have been, over many years, victims of numerous acts of terrorism. Mr. Nilsson, show his gratitude for the condolences letter which they received from KDP-FRO on Monday 10th 2017.
Both sides stressed on the need for further global cooperation to tackle the ideology of extremism as it is a global phenomena and threat. The Head of the Foreign Relations Office thanked the Swedish Government for their continuous support and drew the attention of Mr. Christian Nilsson to the ongoing support and assistance the Kurdistan Regional Government is providing to the IDPs and Refugees in the Region. He re-emphasized that KRG anticipates more help and assistance from Sweden and the European Union while Kurdistan Region experiences difficult and painful economic recession.
