President Barzani Easter Message

On the occasion of the Holy Day of Easter and Resurrection of Jesus Christ (PBUH) President Massoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region sent a message of congratulations to the Christian sisters and brothers.

 

In the name of God the Compassion and Merciful

On this Easter occasion and the Resurrection of Christ (peace be upon him), I extend my warmest congratulations to all Christian sisters and brothers in Kurdistan, Iraq and the entire world, and I hope that everyone will celebrate the festivities with happiness and blissfully. 

 

The revival of religious events of the religious components in Kurdistan is affirmation of the message of peace, love, coexistence and brotherhood. It is a source of pride that the culture of peaceful co-existence and freedom have ancient roots in Kurdistan, and Kurdistan has become a bright model in the world, and I emphasize that everyone should persevere to protect this culture and strengthen it .

 

We thank God that the terrorists have been defeated by the heroism of Peshmerga and they failed to destabilize the spirit of brotherhood and the unity of the ranks between the components. I hope our displaced Christian brothers and sisters will return home heads held high and start new and stable life.

 

On this blessed occasion, I assure the Christian brothers and sisters that we all coexist in one country and we have one common destiny. You are precious element  of Kurdistan and as people will participate in self-determination and exercise all rights of people in Kurdistan.
