President Barzani Receives the UK Ambassador to Iraq

President Masoud Barzani met with the UK Ambassador to Iraq   Ambassador Stephen Hitchen in Salahaddin on Wednesday.

The meeting discussed the political and security situation in the region and Iraq and the latest developments, and highlighted the progress and positive understanding that has emerged between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government of Iraq in order to resolve the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad.

The discussions also covered the situation in the disputed areas outside the Kurdistan Region’s administration. They addressed the obstacles and security and political challenges faced by the indigenous population in these areas. Both sides agreed that appropriate solutions should be found to address these issues.

The security and political situation in the region in general and in the Middle East in particular, was another topic of the meeting.
