During the meeting, both sides reviewed the longstanding and friendly relations between the Republic of Korea, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region. They reflected on the historical ties and the many similarities between the Kurdish and Korean peoples, particularly their resilience, perseverance, and aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity.
The KDP delegation expressed its sincere appreciation for the Republic of Korea's longstanding support for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, recognizing Korea's significant contributions to humanitarian assistance, reconstruction, economic development, and capacity-building since 2003.
The discussions also focused on opportunities to further expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, education, culture, and economic development. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening relations and maintaining the high level of friendship and cooperation between the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the Republic of Korea, while expressing confidence that the new Consul General's tenure will contribute to further enhancing these important ties.
