President of the Kurdistan Region receives Head of Middle East Churches at the Vatican

President Massoud Barzani of the Kurdistan-region today received Head of Middle East Churches Cardinal Leonardo Sandri at the Vatican and his accompanying delegation.

Cardinal Sandri thanked Mr Barzani and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for providing the Christians in the region, especially those who were forced to flee the terrorist acts in their areas. He added that Kurdistan has provided a valuable service to the Christians and it is a model example, which must be respected.

Mr Barzani welcomed Cardinal Sandri, his accompanying delegation and stressed that ancient civilisations have lived in peace and harmony in Kurdistan and there isn’t a difference between different cults.
