President Barzani Receives Ambassador of France to Iraq

President Masoud Barzani received Patrick Durrell, the French Ambassador to Iraq, on Monday, June 30, 2025, in Salahaddin.

During the meeting, which was attended by Yann Braem, the French Consul General in Erbil, views were exchanged on the political situation and the latest developments in the region, as well as the threats and risks facing regional stability. The two sides also highlighted the differences between Erbil and Baghdad, and evaluated the recent discussions and negotiations between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi Federal government.

The Iraqi parliamentary elections scheduled for next November, the next stages of the political process in Iraq, and relations between the Kurdistan Region and France were other topics of discussion.
