President of Kurdistan Region meets with Iraqi Parliament Speaker

  KDP-FR 22/12/2012 President of Kurdistan-region Massoud Barzani met Speaker of Iraqi Parliament Mr Osama Najafi in Salahuddin today. During the meeting, they discussed the current situation in Iraq, the attack on the Ministry of Finance and the arrest of its guards. Included in their talks were the conclusions from the meeting of the Iraqi List. The two sides expressed serious concerns of the events and stressed that Iraq tolerates additional problems, similar to that with the Kurdistan-region. It was imposed on the federal government at this crucial time to take into account the state of health of the Iraqi president, Jalaal Talabani and admiration for his attempts to end the crisis in Iraq. Mr Najafi briefed President Barzani that members and ministers of the Iraqi List had announced that they, along with Iraqi leaders, on their decisions for the future of the political process in Iraq and his visit to Kurdistan was to consult the president to correct the Iraqi political process. Mr Barzani said he will discuss the issue Kurdish political parties.
