The Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party Foreign Relations Office Hemin Hawrami today met with the British Consul General Hugh Evans and his US counterpart Paul Sutphin. The meeting was held at the KDP Foreign Relations Office in Salahdeen, and  attended  members of the FR to discuss the latest developments in the Kurdistan region where Mr Hawrami stressed that the KDP and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) co-operate jointly on dialogue and work with opposition parties in the region. Proposals of creating a political framework have been made with opposing parties and responses are pending. On the situation in Iraq, Mr Hawrami said, “Iraq is going through the most serious political and security phase since 2003 and the reason for the lack of commitment to the constitution and absence of national reconciliation is due to the current Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.” Mr Hawrami also says, “The economic and security authorities under the Iraqi PM’s command are not tolerable for the survival of its consensus." In another aspect of the meeting, discussions were made on the crisis in Syria and their refugees in Kurdistan followed by KDP’s ongoing negotiations with the Turkish government and regarding Abdullah Ocalan, where Mr Hawrami admitted the position of the KDP in detail. The British and USA consul  generals  separately stressed their country’s positions not to support the position of any Iraqi party specifically, but they are in accordance to the constitution and commitment to dialogue and peace. They both expressed their admiration toward the Kurdistan’s political leadership and on the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for their support involving Syrian refugees in the Kurdistan region.
