The letter from Mr Öcalan, on the occasion of this year’s Newroz, called for an end to violence at the start of a political peace process which needs to be abided by its principles for long-term support should be treated as a strategic measure, not a political tactic. We therefore call on all parties to work hard for practical steps towards the restoration and consolidation, of a political and peace solution to the Kurdish issue.
