President Masoud Barzani, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Independence Referendum in Kurdistan, tweeted the following poem. The Poem was written by the Tunisian Poet Abu Qasim Al Shabi (1909-1934):

If the people will to live

Providence is destined to favourably respond

And night is destined to fold

And the chains are certain to be broken

And he who has not embraced the love of life

Will evaporate in its atmosphere and disappear.
