Message of President Barzani on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Kurdistan Women's Union

Dear Secretary and Members of the Secretariat of the Kurdistan Women's Union,

 On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of your union, the Kurdistan Women's Union, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to you and all the members of your devoted organization and all Kurdistan women.

 The Kurdistan Women's Union is one of the most important achievements of the Great September Revolution and was an important and effective tool for educating and raising awareness of Kurdistan women and expanding their participation in the political life and struggle of the Kurdistani people.

 At the present stage, your duty in terms of national awareness, women's education and protection of women's civil and political rights is very important and must be directed towards the active participation of women in the public life of Kurdistan society.  I am sure that the Kurdistan Women's Union will continue to play an influential and leading role in advancing the legitimate cause of our people and defending women's rights and demands.
