President Barzani receives World Economic Forum envoy

President of Kurdistan-Region Massoud Barzani received World Economic Forum envoy Mr Miroslav Dusik. At the outset of the meeting, Mr Dusik was pleased to meet with President Barzani and had praise for the development in the region, where he said: “I heard a lot about the development of Kurdistan, but what I saw was much larger than that reputation,” and referred to the ability and readiness of the Kurdistan region that plays a distinctive role in the global and regional economy, “thanks to the stability, security and a strong will to progress and development.” Mr Dusik thanked Mr Barzani for his participation in the previous conference of the Forum, and formally invitation to participate with an economic delegation at the forthcoming conference to be held in Jordan. The President of Kurdistan region welcomed guests and spoke about the economic situation and capacities of the region, saying: “According to documented reports, this year's annual development reached 8% and the rapid pace of growth, due to security, stability and the existence of well-developed legal investment with natural sources.” At the end of the meeting, Mr Barzani reiterated the region's readiness for economic cooperation and, a development of economic relations with countries around the world in the areas of construction, tourism and trade, not only within the industry and energy.
