President Barzani receives the new United Kingdom Consul General in Erbil

President Masoud Barzani received the new British Consul General in Erbil, Ms. Rosy Cave and an accompanying delegation.

  In the meeting, President Barzani congratulated the new British Consul on her appointment and wished her success in her assignment. President Barzani also thanked the United Kingdom for its assistance and support to the Peshmerga forces in the fight against ISIS within the framework of the international coalition.

  The meeting also discussed the political situation in the Kurdistan Region and  the upcoming elections. President Barzani stressed that the interests of Kurdistan and the issue of legitimacy is above all party interests and the elections should be held this year.

  The reforms in the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces and the need for continued coordination between the international community to confront the threat of terrorism were also discussed at the meeting.
