Message of President Barzani on the occasion of March 1991 Uprising

On the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the great Kurdish people's uprising, I congratulate the proud families of the martyrs, the heroic Peshmerga, freedom fighters, patriots and all the people of Kurdistan.

Achievement of the uprising was a result of unity. thanks to the freedom-seeking will of the Kurdish people, the heroism of the Peshmerga and the unity of the parties in the Kurdistan liberation movement.  The uprising proved to friends and enemies that oppression and intimidation can never extinguish the will of freedom in the hearts of the Kurdish people.  The uprising carried high values ​​and goals, for the Kurdish people to be free and have a proud life in their country.

 On the occasion of the Kurdistan Uprising, we salute and bow down to the martyrs of the Kurdistan Uprising and all the martyrs of the Kurdistan liberation movement and greetings to their families. This achievement must be protected and strengthened and nothing must be done to weaken and mislead the values ​​and goals for which the Kurdish people revolted.
