President Barzani receives Ambassador of Sweden to Iraq

President Massoud Barzani received Swedish Ambassador to Iraq Jessica Svardström.

 The meeting focused on the political situation in Iraq and the region, obstacles to stability in Iraq and the implementation of the Iraqi government's program.

 In another part of the meeting, the threats of extremism and sectarianism on the future of Iraq and the region were highlighted and  both sides emphasized the implementation of the Sinjar agreement and the normalization of the situation in Sinjar.

 The Swedish Ambassador to Iraq expressed his country's support for the stability of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and, while pointing to the presence of a large number of Kurdish and Iraqi communities, wanted to further develop relations between Sweden and the Kurdistan Region.  President Barzani also thanked the Swedish people and governments for always opening their doors to the Kurdish people in difficult times and supporting the Kurdish cause.
