President Masoud Barzani received former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and an accompanying delegation in Salahaddin on Monday.
Boris Johnson expressed his pleasure to meet President Barzani and praised his role in the fight against terrorism and his presence on the front lines of the war. He also referred to the friendly relations between the UK and the Kurdistan Region, stressing the need for continued coordination, support and partnership between the two sides to continue to develop this bilateral relationship.
After welcoming Boris Johnson, President Barzani thanked Britain for its great role in the fight against terrorism, as the threat of ISIS ideology still remains, which did not end with military operations. He also noted that the threat of ISIS terrorists still threatens the stability of the region.
The issue of relations between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government was another topic of the meeting. Both sides stressed the need to resolve all issues in accordance with the constitution on the basis of consensus, balance and partnership.
