Kurdistan Democratic Party spokesman releases a statement about the Iraqi Provincial Elections

We stand firmly for democracy, the electoral process and the inclusive participation of all ethnic and religious communities in Iraq's governance. We emphasize the importance of implementing political agreements and adhering to the federal cabinet's agenda, particularly concerning the situation in Kirkuk.

 

Although we face challenges, including security pressure and attempts to influence through financial means, our party actively participated in the Iraqi Provincial Council elections. Despite obstacles, our dedicated members and supporters overcame these difficulties with enthusiasm.

 

While we have expressed concern about the electoral process, including legal complaints, we believe in the resilience of our party and are confident that our actual vote count surpasses the announced results.

 

To the people of Kurdistan, despite our reservations, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) is open to dialogue and collaboration for the formation of provincial local governments. We advocate for partnership, the implementation of political agreements and the normalization of situations in previously agreed areas.
