President Masoud Barzani received French Ambassador to Iraq Éric Chevalier.

The French Ambassador, who visited President Barzani on the occasion of the end of his term, expressed his pleasure to meet President Barzani and thanked him for his continuous role and support during his tenure as French Ambassador to Iraq.

The meeting also discussed the political situation in Iraq and the region and the recent events and exchanged views on the situation in general.

President Barzani thanked the French Ambassador for his significant role in establishing good relations with all Iraqi and Kurdish parties and wished him success in his new assignment.

Regarding the situation in Iraq, the two sides stressed that the Iraqi federal government should protect the security of Iraq and the rule of law. Relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Iraqi Government and measures to improve these relations were another topic of the meeting.
