President Masoud Barzani received General Joel Vawell, Commander of the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) and his accompanying delegation in Salahaddin on Tuesday.

In their meeting, which was attended  by Mr. Mark Stroh, US Consul General in Erbil, they delved into discussions about the ongoing developments, shifts, and the prevailing terrorism threat in Iraq, Syria, and the broader region.

A significant part of the conversation focused on addressing the reemergence of ISIS, emphasizing the importance of taking necessary measures to combat terrorism effectively.

Additionally, they underscored the crucial need for sustained coordination between coalition forces, Peshmerga forces, and the Iraqi army. The meeting concluded with a strong commitment to the continued efforts of the coalition forces in Iraq and Syria to protect the security and stability of the region and counteract the reemergence of terrorism.
