President Masoud Barzani welcomed British Ambassador to Iraq Steve Hitchen.

The ambassador was joined by the new British Consul General James Goldman in Erbil. The British Ambassador conveyed condolences for the missile attack on Erbil by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, expressing the UK government's opposition on such actions, especially those harming civilians.

The meeting delved into recent security and political developments in Iraq and the region. Discussions included the fact-finding committee, initiated by the Iraqi Prime Minister, tasked with investigating the missile attack.

President Barzani expressed gratitude for the UK and government and Ambassador's support, emphasizing concerns about inhumane acts against the people of Kurdistan. He acknowledged the role of Prime Minister Muhammed Shia Sudani the Federal Prime minister Republic of Iraq.

The meeting touched on relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi Federal Government, the security situation in the Nineveh Plain and Sinjar, and the significance of implementing the Sinjar Agreement.
