A Swedish Foreign Ministry delegation composed of Hohe Scharte Virsila and Luis Kalia visited the Kurdistan Democratic Party Foreign Relations Office and were received by Head of Office Hemin Hawrami in Erbil.
Delegation praised developments in Kurdistan and the importance of relations between the region and Sweden; while admiring the role of the Kurdistan Democratic Party on the current situation in the region and Iraq.
Mr Hawrami spoke of the KDP’s position on the upcoming elections and the draft Constitution and called on Sweden to send international observers to monitor the elections. On the relations between the region and the central government, he mentioned the visits to Baghdad by Kurdistan Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani’s meetings with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, to resolve the outstanding issues between the two sides.
