Masrour Barzani: Kurdistan has been place of coexistence and tolerance

Head of Kurdistan Security & Intelligence Masrour Barzani received the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Masato Takaeoka in Erbil for talks of developing relations between the Kurdistan and Japan. In a joint meeting, also attended by Azad Bjgar from the Honorary-Consul of Japan in Kurdistan and Tsoioshi Andow, Third Secretary to the Japanese Embassy, Ambassador Takaeoka initially expressed his admiration for the evolution of Kurdistan and its current democratic process, adding enhanced security and stability in the region was a focal point and motive for Japan’s trade investors, while wishing for continuous development. Mr Barzani stressed the need to strengthen relations between Kurdistan and Japan, noting that the Kurds look to respect the will of the people of Japan, who were able, after the wars of the last century, in a short period to become one of the most powerful states in the world. Mr Barzani also said that Kurdistan is not only trying to unify the people of Kurdistan, but wants them be a factor in bringing all aspects of communities in the region in harmony in this area with their experiences. Adding that Kurdistan has been place of coexistence and tolerance. At the end of the meeting, Mr Barzani wished for the international community to be more effective in ending the suffering of the Syrian people and stop the bloodshed, and to promote peace and stability in the Middle East.
