President Barzani highlights meeting with Iraqi prime minister

President of Kurdistan-Region Massoud Barzani states at a joint news conference with Prime Minister of Iraq Nouri al-Maliki, on his visit to Erbil as "a very important beginning to resolve differences and agreed on activating joint cooperation commissions to solve all the problems facing Iraq”, adding that the cooperation has been agreed amicably and fraternal solutions in accordance with the Constitution.

President Barzani is arranging a visit to Baghdad in attempt to resolve all outstanding issues between the Kurdistan region and the central government.

Mr al-Maliki said the two sides reached a solution to the issue of the stalemate on provincial borders with Peshmerga forces in accordance with Article 140, adding that his government's intention is to conduct the Census this year and that the Iraqis’ would cooperate with each other to prevent unrest in the region.
