President Barzani receives the new Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Iraq

President Masoud Barzani received, on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in the Salahaddin, Ambassador Anil Bora Inan, the new Ambassador of Türkiye to Iraq.

During the meeting, the political situation in Iraq and the region was discussed. The new Turkish Ambassador to Iraq expressed his happiness to assume his duties as his country's ambassador to Iraq. He stressed Türkiye’s desire to expand its relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, especially in the economic and trade fields and to enhance coordination between the two sides.

During the meeting,The Ambassador spoke in detail and at length about the crime of killing a tourist from the Kurdistan Region in Türkiye, and in addition to expressing his condolences and sympathy to President Barzani and the victim's family, he confirmed to President Barzani that the relevant Turkish authorities conducted a comprehensive investigation into the incident and legal measures were taken, as all the perpetrators involved in the incident were arrested, stressing that the perpetrators of the crime will certainly receive their just punishment.

For his part, President Barzani expressed his wishes for success and prosperity for the new ambassador, and stressed the need to deepen relations and strengthen cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and Turkiye.
