President Barzani receives Ambassador of the United States to Iraq

President Masoud Barzani received US Ambassador to Iraq Ambassador Alina Romanowski in Salahaddin on Monday afternoon.

In the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Steven Bitner, US Consul General in Erbil, the US Ambassador to Iraq referred to the results of President Barzani's recent visit to Baghdad, which had a great impact on the views of Iraqi political parties.

The meeting also discussed the political situation in Iraq and the region, the Kurdistan parliamentary elections in October and the need to conduct campaigns in a free and non-abusive atmosphere.

The issue of the presence of coalition forces in Iraq and the threat of terrorism on Iraq and the region were also discussed.
