President Barzani receives Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Iraq

President Masoud Barzani received, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in the Salahaddin Resort, Ambassador Stephen Hitchen, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Iraq.

During the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Andrew Bizley, the Consul General of the UK in Erbil, views and opinions were exchanged on the political process in Iraq, relations between the Iraqi Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, and the positive results of President Barzani's recent visit to Baghdad.

The meeting also discussed the elections in the Kurdistan Region scheduled for next October, where President Barzani stressed to the visiting delegation the necessity of holding the Kurdistan Parliament elections in a free, transparent and fair manner, and away from any kind of complications and obstacles.

The presence of the international coalition forces and the cooperation and coordination between the coalition forces, the Iraqi army and the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces were other topics of the meeting.
