President Barzani receives Ambassador of Japan to Iraq

President Masoud Barzani received Ambassador of Japan to Iraq Ambassador Futoshi Matsumoto in Salahaddin on Saturday 9 November, 2024.

In the meeting, the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, who visited President Barzani on the occasion of the end of his duties and to bid farewell, expressed his appreciation for the struggles and sacrifices of the people of Kurdistan for the sake of achieving freedom, and highly valued the role of President Barzani in the various stages of the history of the struggle of the people of Kurdistan and the political process in Iraq.

During the meeting, the history of the liberation movement of the people of Kurdistan, their struggle, resistance, and refusal to submit and surrender were highlighted. President Barzani stressed that the cause of the people of Kurdistan will never recede, and that the gains achieved came as a result of the great sacrifices made by the people of Kurdistan and are not a gift from anyone or any party.

In another part of the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of strengthening relations and friendship between the Peoples of Kurdistan and Japan in various fields.

The political situation in Iraq and the region was another topic of the meeting between President Barzani and the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq.
