President Barzani receives Lt. Gen. Bednarek

President of Kurdistan Region Massoud Barzani received Lieutenant General Mick Bednarek from the American Embassy in Baghdad and his accompanying delegation which consisted of the US Consul-General to Erbil, Mr Joseph Pennington, and military advisors in a meeting to discuss the security situation in Iraq.

At the beginning of the meeting, Lt. Gen Bidnarek expressed his thanks to President Barzani on his military plans to combat terrorism in Iraq and raised his concerns of the rise in terrorist attacks in various regions of Iraq.

Mr Barzani explained to Mr Bidnarek that the crisis in Iraq has reached a critical stage and hoped that the results of the April 30 legislative elections will end the security deterioration, as the source of implications is the accumulation of political issues ongoing in the country.

Their meeting concluded with talks of the upcoming provincial and council elections in Kurdistan.
