.. KDP win majority of Parliamentary seats in election

Early results indicate that the Kurdistan Democratic Party secured a majority of the Kurdish vote for the Iraqi Parliamentary elections that took place on 30 April.

Observers confirmed the preliminary results for KDP's '213 List' that secured the most votes in the Kurdistan region, several European countries and in the United States.

The KDP arranged a pre-election committee led by Mr Hemin Hawrami, head of KDP's foreign relations office, with members of KDP's European branches, that inspired successful campaigns for the 213 List.
