President Massoud Barzani on the sidelines of a security conference in Munich met with president of the Macedonian Republic Gjorge Ivanov for talks on the domestic situation in the Kurdistan Region. During the meeting, Mr Ivanov expressed his happiness to meet with Mr Barzani, pointing to the support and assistance provided by his country's forces to the Peshmerga.
Both sides discussed the war against the Islamic State, with the Macedonia president pointing to the number of his citizens and Balkan countries fighting among IS, stressing that terrorism is a common threat to both sides and it is in the interest of both countries to cooperate to defeat extremists.
