Mirani discusses the current situation in Kurdistan and Iraq with McKee

 

Fadhil Mirani, Secretary of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's Political Bureau said that Kurdistan's political leadership and the provincial government are trying for salvation of the crisis facing the Kurdistan during a meeting with Angus McKee, the British Consul General to Kurdistan.

Mirani highlighted the crisis facing the Kurdistan region and focused on the current situation in Kurdistan and Iraq, noting that the political leadership and the provincial government are trying to resolve all of the outstanding issues. He added that the government and people of Kurdistan are "under great pressure" and that the Peshmerga forces are tackling difficult military assignments, such as recapturing ground from Islamic State terrorists. Mirani stressed this crisis is temporary and that the people of Kurdistan will triumph.

He thanked the British government on behalf of the KDP for providing military assistance and for supporting Kurdistan in the fight against terrorism and supplying aid during the financial crisis.

For his part, the British consul general, praised Peshmerga forces for their victories achieved against the Islamic State. He also thanked the leadership of the KDP for its attempts to resolve the crisis and challenges facing the Kurdistan region.
