Nechervan Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region and his accompanying delegation, held a meeting with Dr Fuad Masum, President of the Federal Republic of Iraq.
The meeting discussed the situation in the region in general and Iraq in particular, where both sides reaffirmed the importance of cooperation and coordination between Erbil and Baghdad in order to address the problems and crisis, stressing the importance of finding solutions to all the problems between both governments through dialogue and mutual understanding.
The focal point of the previous meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the war against the so-called Islamic State and the potential liberisation of Mosul, where IS militia has the largest swathe of territory and present for over two years.
The two sides also touched on the new formation of the Iraqi government and taking into account the constitutional and legal rights of the Kurdish people in the selection.
