Statement from President Masoud Barzani, Outside support has a value and will be effective when a nation has willingness to fight for its existence and values.

After the events in Afghanistan, a political and media wave has been working for days to create anxiety and frustration among the Kurdistani people to compare the Kurdistan Region and Afghanistan. All sides should know very well that any nation that does not rely on itself and its capabilities will always be under threats likely to be destroyed. Outside support has a value and will be effective when a nation has willingness to fight for its existence and values.

 

There are significant differences between Afghanistan and Kurdistan. There are many distinctions between the Peshmerga and the Afghan army. The Peshmerga is the product of the history, blood, and tears of the people of Kurdistan. The Peshmerga own hundreds of historical epics and years of heroism. Examples are the epic of Kore, the breaking of ISIS myths, the sagas of Prde and Sahlan, which the enemies of Kurdistan planned to break the will of the people of Kurdistan but the heroism of the Peshmerga showed that whoever tried to attack, will be defeated. The Peshmerga and the Kurdistani people, with their patience and steely will, dismantled and destroyed the intentions of the enemies. 

 

I would like to assure the people of Kurdistan that the situation in Kurdistan is very different from anywhere else. Thanks to Almighty Allah, we have brave and powerful Peshmerga forces, and most importantly, we are a nation with willingness to protect our values and land. If the enemies and oppressors had dreams of hurting the people of Kurdistan, they never succeeded and it would certainly not be easy for them to try in the future. If anyone wants to spread disinformation, negativity, and make unpleasant comparisons among the people, it seems that they have yet to understood the ability, patience and steadfastness of the people Kurdistan.
