President Barzani’s Message on the 56th Anniversary of the March 11 Agreement

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful,

The March 11 Agreement was the outcome of the September Revolution, led by the immortal Barzani, and the result of the struggle and sacrifices of the Peshmerga and all the patriotic forces of Kurdistan. It was a fruitful and comprehensive achievement that began the process of restoring the rights of the people of Kurdistan and laid the foundations of democracy in Iraq. Ultimately, the then Iraqi government was compelled to formally recognize part of our people’s rights.

On the 56th anniversary of the March 11 Agreement, we commemorate and express our deep appreciation for the efforts, perseverance, and sacrifices of all the Peshmerga and revolutionaries of the September Revolution, whose dedication and struggle paved the way for this historic achievement for our nation. On this occasion, we reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding these accomplishments and to continuing the message of peace and coexistence among the people of Kurdistan. We also pay tribute to the souls of the martyrs of the September Revolution and all the martyrs of Kurdistan.
